Scott Lang - Silver Spring Networks
Scott Lang, Chairman, CEO and President, brings over 25 years of global leadership and innovation achievement to Silver Spring Networks and is evangelizing the vision of Smart Energy Networks to utility CEOs around the world. Scott is responsible for the vision, strategy and growth initiatives for Silver Spring Networks.
Scott, working directly with Ross Perot, was instrumental as an early pioneer of the Systems Integration business at both Electronic Data Systems and Perot Systems, altering how Information Technology services were delivered around the world. Under Scott’s leadership, Silver Spring Networks will have even greater impact in transforming how utilities worldwide deliver their services to their 5 billion energy consumers.
Prior to joining Silver Spring Networks, Scott was an executive at Perot Systems, starting with the company at its founding and developing it to become a leading systems integrator with annual revenues over $2 billion with more than 20,000 employees globally. In his last role with Perot Systems, Scott led the company’s Strategic Markets Group, which served the Energy, Communications and Media, Travel and Transportation industries.
Earlier, Scott served in various systems engineering and managerial positions at Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS). He holds an Executive M.B.A. from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, with a minor in Computer Science. Scott is an avid golfer. He and his wife Karen have four girls.
