Earth Day is both a day to celebrate the environment and consider how we can become better stewards. Technology it is now our best tool for promoting sustainable and clean living. Environmental awareness is a critical component not only to the technology industry¿s bottom line, but also to our collective economic and national security.

The voting public agrees and, according to a recent Zogby-463 survey*, nearly one-third of respondents think that investments in green energy have the best potential for creating high quality jobs while forty-five percent believe that technology has the best chance of reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

We call on our elected officials to join us in completing work on a national clean energy policy that will appropriately price carbon emissions and fund R&D efforts that stimulate advances in environmentally beneficial technologies.

*The Zogby-463 survey of 4,143 likely U.S. voters was conducted from March 12-15 with a margin of error of +/- 1.6 percentage points.
