TechNet Day (March 8-9)
We kicked off our annual CEO Fly-In with an evening reception on March 8th with Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna, incoming President of NAAG (National Association of Attorneys General). He was accompanied by Florida State Attorney General Pam Bondi, Nebraska State Attorney General Jon Bruning, Texas State Attorney General Greg Abbott, Michigan State Attorney General Bill Schuette.
FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski was also in attendance to give some remarks about the future of telecomm infrastructure.
On March 9th, TechNet and more than forty of our networks CEOs and Senior Executives converged for a day of events that included:
- A meeting with the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee hosted by Senator Mark Begich (D-AK), Committee Chairman.
-White House Administration meetings with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Director of the Office of Management and Budget Jack Lew, Director of the National Economic Council Gene Sperling, and Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors Austan Goolsbee.
-House Democratic and Republican Meetings with Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) respectively.
-A meeting with the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force hosted by Utah Senator Orrin Hatch and Arizona Senator John McCain.
-And finally, FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz came to give remarks and answer questions regarding Internet privacy.
