TechNet Mourns the Loss of Gary Fazzino

Washington, DC – TechNet, the leading bipartisan policy and political network of CEOs that promotes the innovation economy, today issued the following statement on the untimely passing of Gary Fazzino, the founding president of TechNet:

“Gary Fazzino was a shining light for our industry for so long,” said Rey Ramsey, TechNet President and CEO. “His advocacy on behalf of America’s innovation economy and its people was second to none.  TechNet was blessed to have Gary as our first President in the early days of this organization.  The entire staff of TechNet was honored to know him, and we will miss his friendship and wise counsel.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the many that loved Gary.  May he rest in peace.”

Gary Fazzino died Tuesday evening at his Palo Alto home following a more than two-year battle with multiple myeloma, a form of cancer. Mr. Fazzino was the first president of TechNet when the organization was founded in the late 1990s.  He was also the longtime lead for government affairs for HP as well as Applied Materials.  He was also a longtime member of the Palo Alto (California) City Council and former mayor. He is survived by his wife, Annette; their twin children, Matthew and Julia, both age 5:  and by three siblings: Donna, an East Bay resident, Brian of Saratoga, and Wayne of Nevada.  Memorial services are pending.
