TechNet Opposes S. 743, Marketplace Fairness Act

Washington, DC – TechNet, the bipartisan policy and political network of technology CEOs that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, today announced its opposition to the proposed Internet sales tax bill, S. 743, The Marketplace Fairness Act:

“Imposing a new Internet sales tax regime is a tremendously complex issue that should be addressed through regular order, starting in the Senate Finance Committee, and done in a thorough and deliberative manner,” said Rey Ramsey, president and CEO of TechNet. “We should not rush a proposal that is riddled with holes and, most importantly, does not provide enough protections for small businesses, the back bone of our economy.”
