TechNet Statement On Gang of Eight Immigration Bill

Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the bipartisan policy and political network of technology CEOs that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, today issued the following statement in response to the release of the Senate’s Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration bill:

“We applaud the Senate Gang of Eight for their hard work and the bipartisan construct they designed with the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013,” said Rey Ramsey, TechNet President and Chief Executive Officer.  “We are encouraged by many aspects of this bill, including the increase in both Green Card and H1B numbers and the inclusion of a STEM fund, and believe it marks an important step forward in the comprehensive immigration reform process.

“TechNet looks forward to continuing to work closely with leaders in both parties to strengthen this bill and ensure the new H1B provisions are workable and allow companies to continue to grow and innovate here in the United States.

“We thank the Gang of Eight for their leadership on these issues critically important issues.”
