Lia Nitake serves as TechNet’s Deputy Executive Director for California and the Southwest. Based in Sacramento, she supports TechNet’s state advocacy and political activities in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, and issue advocacy, government affairs, events, policy analysis, political fundraising, membership relations, coalition building, and media relations. Lia brings a decade of policy and economic development experience at the local, state, and international levels to TechNet, most recently serving as a public affairs strategy consultant. She previously worked as the Director of Public Policy at the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, where she oversaw local and statewide advocacy, strategic partnerships, and programmatic development in support of the state’s API business community. Prior to her work in California, Lia served as a water and climate consultant at the World Bank and as a Junior Research Fellow at foreign policy think tank Carnegie Europe. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the California State University Long Beach and her master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies.
