Jose Torres
Deputy Director, California and the Southwest
Jose Torres Casillas serves as TechNet’s Deputy Executive Director for California and the Southwest. Based in Sacramento, Torres plays a key role in TechNet’s state advocacy and political activity in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.
Prior to joining TechNet, Jose worked as a Policy and Legislative Advocate with Health Access California, a non-profit advocacy organization where he focused on advocating on issues within the California legislature and state administrative departments.
Born in Mexico and raised in Southern California, Jose graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in Sociology and from the University of the Pacific with a Master of Public Administration.
Jose enjoys lifting weights for fun, playing video games, and trying different foods as a self-described foodie.
