Robert Boykin

Robert Boykin serves as TechNet’s Executive Director for California and the Southwest. Boykin  oversees TechNet’s state advocacy and political activities in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.

Boykin worked within the California State Assembly for over ten years, including Sergeant At Arms/Special Services, Scheduler to Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla, and Chief-of-Staff for Assemblymember Jose Medina. His first role out of the Assembly was with Argo AI as Government Relations Manager. His last position was with the California Association of Health Plans as a Legislative Advocate.

Boykin’s years of experience mean he understands the legislative process, can work under tight deadlines on multiple projects, possesses analytical and writing skills, and has excellent organizational skills.  He understands how to manage professional relationships with legislative staff, committee consultants, lobbyists, stakeholder groups, and constituents in order to advance legislative priorities.

Boykin attended San Jose State University as a first generation college student and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management.

A San Diego native, Boykin has built a life in Northern California with his college sweetheart, Malenda, and their two children. Boykin enjoys listening to podcasts, playing video games, reading, BBQing, and hosting backyard hangouts when not attending to his daily daddy duties.
