Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today applauded the bipartisan passage of the Respect for Marriage Act in the U.S. House of Representatives and looks forward to President Biden signing the bill into law. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:
“Today is a great day for equality in America. All Americans, no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity, should be safe from discrimination, including the right to marry.
“By protecting marriages of same-sex and interracial couples under federal law, individuals who were concerned their marriage and family could be destabilized, now have certainty to live and work where they choose. This will help businesses recruit and retain a diverse and talented workforce and lead to increased innovation and economic growth.
“We applaud the House for today’s historic bipartisan vote and look forward to the President immediately signing the Respect for Marriage Act into law.”
