Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, submitted comments in response to the Office of Science and Technology Policy’s (OSTP) request for information on automated systems use in the workplace. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize how we live and work by increasing productivity, democratizing and expanding access to services, and improving innovation. Across every sector of our economy, AI is being used to enhance safety, monitor crises, protect devices from cybersecurity threats, and improve employee well-being in the workplace.

“Any regulations targeting AI must avoid overly burdensome requirements and be focused on responding effectively to specific actual harms while allowing innovation to flourish. America must win the AI battle to ensure this transformational technology is developed, deployed, and implemented responsibly across the globe.

“We will continue to work with the Administration, federal agencies, and Congress to effectively put in place safeguards that protect consumers without stifling innovation and our ability to lead on AI.”
