Generative AI tool helps 3D print personal items designed for daily use
Researchers at MIT, Northeastern, Google, and Stability AI have developed a way to use AI to make real-world objects, like vases and hooks. With the “MechStyle” system, the model simulates how AI-prompted changes will impact a structure, ensuring the object can sustain everyday use while incorporating the user’s personal style. This system could eventually help users personalize their belongings, design assistive technology fit to user specifications, and even create prototypes for novice designers.

How AI prevents falls across senior living communities
Helpany has developed a radar-based motion monitoring device, named Paul, that improves fall prevention and care services within senior communities. Paul empowers caregivers with real-time information, enabling proactive care. This technology automatically detects residents at risk by analyzing their daily movement patterns, and sends out preventative alerts for high-risk residents. Communities using Helpany’s fall prevention reduced falls by up to 72%.
