Washington, D.C. — TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of tech industry CEOs and senior executives, issued the following statement from CEO Linda Moore ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address:
“As the President prepares to deliver the State of the Union, the stakes for America’s technological leadership have never been higher. The decisions made in Washington in the coming years will determine whether the United States leads the next generation of innovation or cedes ground to global competitors.
“The federal government can meet the moment by delivering a clear, risk-based federal framework for artificial intelligence; a single, comprehensive national data privacy law; modern, reliable energy infrastructure; and a strong, pro-growth trade agenda that protects American innovators abroad.
“We urge President Trump and Congress to act with urgency to secure America’s economic strength, technological leadership, and long-term competitiveness.”
