Washington, D.C. — TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today elevated Cameron Demetre to Executive Director for California and the Southwest. Demetre will oversee TechNet’s state advocacy and political activity in California, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. TechNet’s state team leads on a wide range of technology issues, including computer science education, privacy, cybersecurity, tax, energy, broadband expansion, and policies affecting the gig and sharing economies. He most recently served as TechNet’s Deputy Executive Director for California and the Southwest. Demetre has deep state policy experience, having previously worked for the Brown and Newsom administrations at the California Department of Finance and as a Legislative Director in the California State Assembly.

“TechNet is proud to have Cameron leading our efforts in California and the Southwest. Cameron has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of tech issues and great effectiveness in shaping public policy. His advocacy skills are second to none and our members value his can-do attitude, wise counsel, and record of results on the issues that impact their businesses. We know he will demonstrate even greater leadership for TechNet and our industry in his new role,” said Linda Moore, President and CEO.

“Cameron has been an integral member of TechNet’s state team since he joined us more than a year and a half ago. Today’s announcement only underscores his leadership in California and the Southwest in addition to his mastery of the policy issues that impact tech. Cameron is the consummate state policy professional and I am confident that he will ensure our members’ voices are heard in California and state capitals across the Southwest,” said David Edmonson, Vice President, State Policy and Government Relations.

“I am grateful to our President and CEO, Linda Moore, and our Vice President for State Policy and Government Relations, David Edmonson, for their continued trust in me. I am excited to be taking on the role of Executive Director for California and the Southwest, a role I know well after a year and half of working in the region on behalf of TechNet’s members. I look forward to continuing our advocacy and promoting the positive contributions of the tech industry,” said Cameron Demetre, Executive Director, California and the Southwest.
