Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today announced April Mellody as Senior Vice President of Communications. Mellody will oversee all communications strategy for the organization including external communications, media relations, executive communications, and digital strategy.

Prior to joining TechNet, April was the CEO and founder of Ballina Strategic Communications – a communications firm focused on tech, media, and public policy. Prior to Ballina, she was the Chief Communications Officer for Group Nine Media, parent of award-winning digital brands: The Dodo, Thrillist, NowThis and POPSUGAR. She has over 25 years of experience in communications and political strategy having been a spokesperson for the White House, the Senate, and the Democratic National Committee. She also previously worked for the communication firm Robinson, Lerer and Montgomery (now part of FGS Global) advising multinational media and technology companies.
