Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today issued the following comment, attributable to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore, after receiving a letter from the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security Chair, Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-CO), and Ranking Member, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), on artificial intelligence:

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is a transformational technology that will revolutionize how we live and work and help us solve the greatest challenges of our time. While China is striving to win the AI battle, America must lead the way on the development and deployment of AI to ensure it is implemented responsibly across the globe. TechNet applauds Senators Blackburn (R-TN) and Hickenlooper (D-CO) for working with the technology industry to ensure the proper safeguards for consumers are put in place while allowing U.S. companies to lead the world in AI innovation. We look forward to responding to the questions asked in their thoughtful letter.”
