Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of tech industry CEOs and senior executives, today released the following statement from its President and CEO Linda Moore after Canada withdrew its digital services tax (DST) on United States’ technology companies

“TechNet commends Canada for withdrawing its digital services tax and working to reestablish a fair trading relationship with the United States. We also applaud the administration’s work on this issue and strongly urge other countries implementing similar discriminatory anti-innovation measures to immediately roll them back. American tech ingenuity has transformed industries, created millions of jobs here and around the world, but discriminatory taxes by foreign governments unfairly target U.S. innovators and threaten America’s economic leadership. Strong relationships with our international trading partners require a level playing field, allowing American companies a fair chance to compete without being extorted by foreign governments.”
