Washington, D.C. — TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of American technology CEOs and senior executives, today released a letter from TechNet CEO Linda Moore to the U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, urging him to prioritize protecting the American tech industry from discriminatory treatment in ongoing trade negotiations with the EU.
The letter stated, “There are undoubtedly many issues to be negotiated in any trade agreement with the EU, but I urge you to prioritize ending the EU’s discriminatory treatment of American firms. Any deal that does not level the playing field will be seen by other countries as license to enact similar discriminatory measures, which will not only place American companies at a competitive disadvantage but will negatively impact their ability to invest in new technologies that will ensure America’s continued leadership.”
