Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of tech industry CEOs and senior executives, today announced Bryn McDonough is joining the organization as Counsel and Director of Federal Policy and Government Relations. Based in Washington, D.C., McDonough will play an important role in driving TechNet’s federal policy advocacy on key priorities, including trade, digital privacy, immigration, education, and workforce development. She will also provide legal analysis of public policy and court cases affecting our members as part of TechNet’s Innovation Legal Center.
“There has never been a more important time to preserve and protect the United States’ global leadership in innovation,” said Linda Moore, TechNet President and CEO. “Bryn’s deep experience in private legal practice, on Capitol Hill, and in the executive branch — including her recent leadership roles at the Department of Homeland Security — makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Her expertise in public policy development and regulatory oversight will be instrumental as we navigate the evolving policy landscape. We are thrilled to welcome Bryn to TechNet.”
“I’m honored to join TechNet at such a pivotal moment for technology policy. From AI to cybersecurity, the stakes for America’s innovation leadership and national security have never been higher. I look forward to working with TechNet’s member companies and entire team to shape and enact policies that strengthen our global competitiveness and promote responsible innovation,” said McDonough.
Before joining TechNet, McDonough served in several senior roles in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including Chief of Staff in the Office of the Deputy Secretary and Deputy General Counsel. There, she spearheaded cross-component and cross-agency initiatives on cybersecurity, transportation security, and crisis response, and oversaw legal teams managing major rulemakings. McDonough also directed legislative strategy in the U.S. Senate as Chief Counsel to Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and previously held policy roles for former Senator Bob Casey (D-PA).
McDonough began her legal career as a litigator at Latham & Watkins and Dilworth Paxson, representing clients in complex commercial and regulatory matters. She holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Government and History from Georgetown University. Bryn is a member of the California Bar and is also admitted (inactive) to the Pennsylvania Bar. She will officially join TechNet on July 14th.
