Washington, D.C. — TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of tech CEOs and senior executives, today announced Matt Slavoski as Federal Communications Director. Based in Washington, D.C., Slavoski will serve as the primary media contact for the organization’s D.C.-based advocacy.

“Technology policy is moving quickly in Washington, and effective communications are essential to ensuring policymakers, reporters, and the public understand what is at stake for American innovation and competitiveness,” said TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore. “Matt brings deep experience in political communications, media relations, and technology policy, along with a strong understanding of TechNet’s mission. We are thrilled to welcome him back to TechNet.”

“Matt is a skilled communications strategist with a proven record of building reporter relationships, developing impactful messaging, and managing fast-paced media operations,” said April Mellody, TechNet’s Senior Vice President of Communications. “His experience in Congress, campaigns, and the technology policy space will strengthen our federal communications work and help elevate TechNet’s advocacy at a consequential moment for the industry.”

“As the technology sector’s leading voice in Washington, TechNet is meeting the moment with a comprehensive agenda to keep America at the forefront of innovation,” said Slavoski. “I’m excited to return to TechNet to tell the story of how federal policymakers and the industry can work together on smart policies to advance our shared goals of leading the world in the technologies of the future — while ensuring the American people can seize the benefits and economic opportunities that they promise to offer. I look forward to working with April, the communications team, and the federal policy team to share that message in Washington and beyond.”

In his role, Slavoski will serve as TechNet’s primary media contact and spokesperson for Washington, D.C., including congressional and agency reporters, policy trade publications, and daily tip sheets. He will develop and execute communications strategies to enhance the visibility of TechNet’s federal policy team, identify high-impact media and event opportunities, and lead the development of federal policy communications material.

Slavoski is a political communications strategist with nearly a decade of experience working in Congress, campaigns, and the technology policy space. Most recently, he served as Deputy Communications Director for U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, where he managed a fast-paced media relations operation and worked to elevate the Senator’s profile as an influential leader in national Democratic politics.

Prior to that, Slavoski led communications for both the 2020 campaign and the congressional office of Congressman Matt Cartwright (D-PA), where he crafted and executed a comprehensive strategy positioning the Congressman to win reelection. Slavoski began his career at TechNet, supporting the federal policy and communications teams and managing the organization’s social media channels. Slavoski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Saint Joseph’s University.
